Therapy Meditation for Sexuality & Self-Discovery: A Safe Space to Come Home to Yourself

If you’re navigating questions around your sexuality or gender identity, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it all out right away. The path to self-understanding is deeply personal, layered, and often nonlinear. For many, it begins with one simple but profound experience:

feeling safe enough to explore.

This week on my YouTube channel, Everyday Therapy, I created a new therapy-informed guided meditation designed to help you do just that—explore your sexuality, reconnect with your inner knowing, and feel held in the process. This meditation isn’t about finding immediate answers. It’s about opening a door to curiosity, softness, and self-acceptance.

🧘‍♀️ Why Therapy Meditations Matter When Exploring Your Sexuality

As a licensed professional counselor and sex therapy clinician, I’ve had the privilege of holding space for individuals who are unpacking the complex intersections of identity, love, family, culture, and truth. Whether you're questioning your sexuality, coming out later in life, or healing from internalized shame, there’s one thing I always prioritize first in therapy: emotional safety.

That’s why this meditation begins with several minutes of grounding, regulation, and creating a cocoon of inner safety.

When we feel emotionally and physically safe, our nervous systems relax.

From that place, we’re better able to listen inward, connect with our needs, and access the deep wisdom we carry.

🌿 What to Expect in This Guided Meditation

Titled “A Safe Space to Come Home to Yourself: Therapy Meditation for Exploring Your Sexuality”, this meditation was crafted with care, compassion, and clinical intention.

In this 18-minute practice, you’ll:

  • Ground yourself through breath and body awareness

  • Create a felt sense of safety in your internal and external environment

  • Be gently guided through reflective, nonjudgmental questions

  • Explore aspects of your sexuality with softness, curiosity, and care

  • Move into a long, gentle outro to help you integrate what emerged

This meditation is ideal for anyone who:

  • Is questioning or exploring their sexuality

  • Identifies as LGBTQ+ and wants support with self-acceptance

  • Is processing coming out or living with a hidden identity

  • Desires a safe, sacred space for internal inquiry and emotional healing

  • Has experienced shame or confusion around their sexual identity

It’s also a beautiful practice to return to anytime you feel disconnected from yourself or want to deepen your self-compassion.

💬 Reflective Questions Included in the Practice

In the heart of the meditation, I offer a series of open-ended questions to help you gently explore your inner landscape. You are invited to sit with questions like:

  • What truths within me are asking to be heard?

  • What kind of love have I imagined in my quietest moments?

  • What if I am already whole—even in my not-knowing?

These are not questions to “solve” but rather invitations into presence. Let them meet you where you are. Let them reveal what they may—at your own pace.

🌈 Creating Safety for Insight: My Therapeutic Approach

My private practice, Intima Couples & Sex Therapy, is rooted in a core belief: Insight can only emerge where there is safety. Whether in therapy, meditation, or daily life, we must first feel emotionally safe before we can access the deeper truths inside us.

I specialize in:

  • LGBTQ+ affirming therapy

  • Relationship and sex therapy

  • Therapy for depression and anxiety

  • Ketamine-assisted therapy for deeper insight and transformation

All of these services are grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centered approach. I work with clients across Colorado (virtually and in-person in Lakewood) and am passionate about holding space for those navigating identity, relational healing, and emotional growth.

🧠 If you're looking for a therapist who sees the beauty in your process and honors your inner wisdom, I invite you to book your first session today.

🤍 You Are Not Alone in This Journey

Exploring your sexuality is not something you have to rush—or do perfectly. It’s a path of listening, unlearning, re-imagining, and gently becoming. My hope is that this meditation offers you a pocket of peace, reflection, and affirmation along the way.

You are not broken.
You are not too late.
You are allowed to be all of you.

And I’m so glad you’re here.
